One of the greatest gifts an organization can make to its employees is a proven system of navigation in a turbulent world. By empowering employees in this way, you will touch simultaneously their hearts, minds, and bank accounts, for you are giving them a priceless capacity to rely on themselves. By giving your employees this freedom, they will freely and naturally contribute to your organization.
The Resilient Negotiator
Teaches the basics so that you can transform every negotiation, however great or small, into a window to cultivate and to strengthen your integral resilience.
Exercises
Please concentrateon and track in your Field Notes the basic moves that connect your skills as a negotiator with integral resilience. I recommend the following:
- Discovering what is a negotiation and when you may have unwittingly began a negotiation without knowing it. When might the other party have begun negotiating with you?
- Noticing when you fall into Need and how you recover.
- Challenging one important Assumption or Expectation in each negotiation.
- Paying attention to how you are spending (potentially wasting) your Negotiator’s Budget (Time x Effort x $$$ x Creativity).
- Asking yourself, what have I discovered relating to the Pain points of the other parties with whom I am negotiating?
- Noticing which “Ring” you are in, and discovering what Ring the system indicates is the most salient Ring. Have you jumped Rings?
