Stop Look Go is a simple practice conceived by Brother David Steindl-Rast, a Benedictine monk who lives in a monastery in the mountains of Austria. I describe my extraordinary encounter with Brother David in How the Leopard Changed Its Spots. Brother David is and is the founder of the Grateful Living Network. Therein you will find a simple sequel, entitled “A Grateful Day.”
Along with basic sustenance and health care, we require very little else to bring much joy, resilience, and hope in a troubled world.
“Every moment of our life is a given moment.
We haven’t earned it; there is no way to ensure another moment will be given to us.”
Brother David Steindl-Rast
Goal:
- In 5 minutes to rediscover the gift of life and to pass it on to someone else.
Action: Stop Look Go
- Stop: open all the senses including the energy field surrounding the Heart.
- Look: observe what is happening right before you in this moment.
- Go: Experience this fleeting butterfly moment and pass on the joy and kindness of it to another.
Resilience Advantage:
- The bounty is not diminished but increases by giving it away.
- A positive feedback loop is created that can rapidly reach a tipping point of kindness and resilience within your community.
