Many users are thrilled by the arrival of AI, while others view AI with profound trepidation. This is altogether understandable, because AI like many economically strategic technologies (from the invention of fire to the integrated circuit) promises to upend society, conveying huge benefits, while causing massive and disruptions and dislocations. As we have entered an early beta stage of testing the Kokoro series, it seems important to acknowledge upfront some of the important concerns being voiced by users of AI, and how Kokoro has been designed to respond to them.
Significant Concerns about AI and Large Language Models in Particular
Right off the bat we must acknowledge that AI is still in its cradle—an enfant terrible, a Rabelaisian Gargantua in swaddling, an idiot savant! A September 25, 2024 Report in the prestigious scientific journal Nature made the following findings (quoted by Nicola Jones in EcoWatch:
- Bigger AI chatbots are more inclined to spew nonsense — and people don’t always realize
- A study of newer, bigger versions of three major artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots shows that they are more inclined to generate wrong answers than to admit ignorance. Artificial-intelligence models are improving overall but are more likely to answer every question, leading to wrong answers.
- The assessment also found that people aren’t great at spotting the bad answers.
- AI models fed AI-generated data quickly spew nonsense
- The team found that bigger, more-refined versions of LLMs are, as expected, more accurate, thanks in large part to having been shaped with fine-tuning methods such as reinforcement learning from human feedback. That is good news. But they are less reliable: among all the non-accurate responses, the fraction of wrong answers has increased, the team reports, because the models are less likely to avoid answering a question — for example, by saying they don’t know, or by changing the subject.
- And on top of all this AI is an energy gobbling monster. Notwithstanding its climate adaptation policies, Google’s AI demand has driven emissions up by 48%.
How Kokoro is Designed to Avoid the General Problems and Deficiencies of LLM AI
The mission of the Kokoro Series is to make available to users—personal, business, and community—a valued assistant to support wise decision making and awaken users’ inner capacity for wisdom and spiritual discovery. We are finding that these methodologies are in no way dependent upon, but rather enhanced by ChatGPT4o and in the following ways.

- Addresses and offers a practical path to remedy for one of the great challenges of our age—cultivating wisdom which appears today out of fashion and in short supply.
- Relies on an algorithm that combines Heart, Mind and Hand, resulting in the skills of Big Heart Intelligence and Integral Resilience. These core competencies represent the next great frontier beyond mindfulness and emotional intelligence.
- Focuses on user’s questions and deepest concerns (“Ask Kokoro”)` framed as wisdom challenges. In most all fields the quality of questions is widely recognized as holding the key to discovery, which often proves more important than the immediate results. Framing of questions in terms of wisdom is an art in itself.
- Enables users to tap in seconds the collective wisdom of all of humanity and Nature and apply this wisdom practically to urgent personal, business, or community challenges.
- Offers a practical way for users to track and measure the development of their skills and better judgement against an initial baseline and as reflected in real life situations reported in their Field Notes. Kokoro is one of the first initiatives that is actually seeking to measure wisdom which, although universally recognized as a virtue, is largely treated in economic systems as qualitative, subjective, and non-economic. As a result wisdom is discounted and largely ignored as an essential factor in critical, often fatal and irreversible decisions.
The cultivation and practical application of wisdom is too important to be entrusted solely to AI.
