1. PAYING FORWARD

PAYING FORWARD—Celebrate your wins and remember to take the joy and the benefits and to pass them onward, selflessly, without thought of recognition or recompense. This is called “paying forward". It can dispel feelings of helplessness and despair and to enhance self image, clarity and power. Paying forward can recalibrate all elements to your advantage— your sense of possibility goes up, your worries recede, your vision and focus sharpen, expectations are no longer so important, and your vital energy and resilience soar.

VITALITY

VITALITY—A core discovery in the principle of integrity is how systems maintain their coherence, wholeness, and adaptive vitality. Life force or vitality (meaning physical, mental and spiritual energy) is the next element. The Chinese call it 'Qi', the Japanese 'Ki', and the Sankrit 'Prana'. You can feel when the 'Qi' is flowing and then you know you are in the integrity state.
0

EMPOWERMENT

EMPOWERMENT—A state of heightened vitality, connection, adaptivity, and flow.
0

COURAGE

COURAGE—When you are grounded and connected, you will have the courage to take risks.
0

JOY

JOY—Take joy from little triumphs and small, but not insignificant, things. A joy that is unrealized or frustrated can also be painful because there is a gap between our hopes, aspirations, and present reality.
0

PLAY

PLAY—A sense of play and lightness of being is an essential quality of big heart intelligence.
0

BALANCE

BALANCE—Integrity is a state of dynamic balance where the head (intelligence), hand (action), and heart (compassion) work in harmony. The truly ethical person is a per- son whose mind and heart is in balance with action. You don’t have to be a Zen master or a martial artist, or a natural genius like Lincoln, to learn wise balance.
0

DETERMINATION

DETERMINATION—Does this person see the world objectively, just as it is, modestly and without a lot of ego clutter and noise? It is a formidable test because we all view the world in our own unique way, imperfectly.
0

GRIT

GRIT—The grit of 'inte-grit-y' is having the capacity to adapt, endure and bounce back from adversity. Those without grit find themselves failing much harder when things go wrong, and lose perspective. Those with grit find themselves taking little failures and mistakes in stride and keep their eye on the bigger picture.
-4

NEGATIVE CAPABILITY

NEGATIVE APPRECIATION CAPABILITY—Negative capability is when a person is capable of tolerating uncertainties, mysteries, and doubts, without any irritable reaching after fact and reason. Abraham Lincoln was deeply connected to the tragic cadence of his time, a period of profound uncertainty and turbulence. It is said that his mind worked slowly and thoughtfully (negative capability) but with the power of a bear trap.
0

RESOURCEFULNESS

RESOURCEFULNESS—In her best-selling book, Unbroken, Laura Hillenbrand describes how She survived forty-seven days on a life raft, surrounded by twenty-foot sharks, without water, food, or shelter, exposed to a merciless sun, with an injured comrade dying by her side. To survive, She had to become fiercely resourceful. Resourcefulness is the ability to innovate new pathways to reach one's desired ends.

SEEING THE BIG PICTURE

SEEING THE BIG PICTURE—What is the larger perspective, the bigger vision? What is the overall goal or purpose? Seeing the larger context in which things might occur helps to appreciate their real measure.
0

0

COMPASSION

COMPASSION—Integrity is a state of dynamic balance where the head (intelligence), hand (action), and heart (compassion) work in harmony. Help the key decision makers begin vividly to see their pain. It is an act of compassion. A 14th century samurai said: "I have no armor. I make compassion my armor." You must have compassion when you fail or succeed.
0

HUMILITY

HUMILITY (LOW STANCE)—The key qualities you can cultivate in Ring 5 are modesty and humility, which lead to trainability. The word “humility” comes from the Latin, humus meaning “earth.” When we stay close to the earth we can adjust with remarkable agility. Develop a sense of humility and patience with the process, this is one way to pass through uncertainty, disappointment, or despair.
0

FLOW

FLOW—Ethics and morality naturally flow from integrity. In negotiations we will get ourselves in terrible difficulty if we allow ourselves to believe we can ever manage or control numerical results, other people’s actions, or the flow of time. When you feel the qi is flowing then you know you are in the integrity state.
0

LOVE

LOVE—The most powerful of source of energy. Love possesses the extraordinary qualities of being free and unlimited; it is enhanced by giving it away; and its smallest tincture can last a lifetime for the giver and recipient.
